If you have been diagnosed with Diabetes, it is vital that you seek professional foot care services from a registered practitioner. Patients with this condition have an increased risk of poor foot health, often due to circulatory issues or from Peripheral Neuropathy. This occurs as result of high glucose levels that affect the function of the nerves causing a loss of sensation, numbness or even pain.

Treatment

• Vascular assessment using a hand-held Doppler Scanner, to determine the quality of the circulation in each foot.

• A Monofilament Test, which is a simple touch test, to check for signs of Peripheral Neuropathy. 

• Following this any sores or ulcers will be treated and dressed, and we will confirm if a medical referral is advisable.  

 

Once this has been completed you will receive the same service offered by our Full Foot Treatment which includes toenail cutting and checks for the following:

Corns

Calluses

Fungal Nail infection

Athlete’s foot

Verrucae

Ingrown toenail

 

Any problems identified will be treated. The appointment finishes with a relaxing and moisturising foot massage which will help to improve circulation.
